Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a regular celebration of the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently owned record stores in the U.S. and thousands of similar stores around the world. This year, RSD has named Fred Armisen as Record Store Day Ambassador 2021.

As with last year’s pandemic-related RSD Drops, stores will be handling sales and store procedures in the way they determine to be right for themselves and their community and that may mean something different from what people are used to. RSD recommends checking in with your local record stores –join their email lists, follow them on social media– so you’re as in the loop as possible. Find your nearest participating RSD shop HERE
